What Are We Eating?

Anybody that knows me knows I love to eat. From fine dining to street food and anything in between. One of my favorite things about traveling is the food you experience the destinations. You can learn so much history about a placed based on the prime ingredients they use in their food. Everywhere we go we take a cooking class to connect with the locals and experience delicious food.

Now it would be amazing if we could eat every meal out while on this trip, but that just would not be reasonable. It can quickly get expensive to eat out for every meal so we structured our budget for the trip so that we will eat out at least one meal a day. On some occasions we will have two meals out, but we do plan on doing a lot of cooking.

We have found that in a lot of places there isn’t necessarily something special for breakfast. So we typically go to the grocery store for yogurt, eggs, bread, and some sort of breakfast meat that we can prepare. This is one of the reasons we typically enjoy staying in Airbnbs, we have easy access to a kitchen.

We plan on preparing some meals that are relatively simple and don’t require too many ingredients. We will be consistently using salt, pepper, and garlic powder with a lot of our recipes and soy sauce will probably be another staple. Below are some of the simple meals we will prepare.

  • Stir fry
  • Taco bowls
  • Spaghetti
  • Buddha Bowls
  • Shakshouka
  • Creamy sausage and pasta
  • Baked chicken with sides
  • Lemon garlic salmon with sides
  • Steak with sides
